Not exactly. Think of this much more as a “big celebration of our marriage”.
There won’t be a ceremony, seated dinner, or other traditions like a first dance. Aaaaaalso we may have already gotten married this past August.
Heck ya. A spectacular, one-of-a-kind party to celebrate our marriage!
The party starts at 7pm with a cocktail hour, light bites, and a few short speeches. The rest of the evening will be spent in standard Lindsay & Derek fashion: dancing our cute lil butts off with you all, our favorite people. You can see the schedule here!
This will be as celebratory as a wedding but a little bit more "our style"!
We’re calling it “Disco Cocktail” – we give you full permission to feel glamorous, fun, funky, and a touch fancy. If that’s not something that excites you, standard “cocktail” attire is also great.
What matters to us is that you wear whatever helps you feel ready to dance. If you want to go all out, we urge you to try and upstage us. Throw the concept of “wedding appropriate” out the window.
We'll have appetizers during the welcome hour and will serve late night food for the afterparty! But no full dinner so we recommend going out to eat beforehand!
We only booked The Perplexiplex and Sips with a Z. This means that from 7pm-10pm there will still be general public exhibit-goers in Meow Wolf, but they will not be allowed in the rooms where our party is happening. This does mean, however, that you'll run into some "normies" when you arrive at the venue, when you use the bathroom, and when you move from one room to another.
